Emdebian versions of Debian packages, reduced in size and cross-built for embedded devices.

• EmDebian builds packages using the composite method using emdebian-tools that separates out the language translations and removes the documentation and other text files.

Secure Apt

Both repositories use Secure Apt via the Emdebian Archive Signing Key.

Root filesystem

The target packages are combined into a configurable root filesystem using the emsandbox script from emdebian-tools. See customisations and machine variants for details of how to prepare a customised root filesystem.
